Personnel selection
Personnel selection is the methodical placement of individuals into jobs. Its impact on the organization is realized when employees achieve years or decades of service to the employer. The process of selection follows a methodology to collect information about an individual in order to determine if that individual should be employed. However, as many of us know this process is fraught with problems. There may be some form of pre-selection or some exclusion based on a physical characteristics.
For this discussion, take a position of for or against the idea that all interviews should be done via phone so that you only know their background, experience, and answer to interview questions. Would this eliminate biases in hiring people and ensure we hire only the best person?
