Correlation
This is a useful test to perform when you want to see the relationship between two or more normally distributed interval variables.

With SPSS open, select file- open -data. Navigate to the file you want to open and click open

Select analyze- covariate- bivariate

. Move the two variables of interest to the right side e.g. (age & income), click OK
– Keep the default settings- Pearson is for interval or ratio data
Spearman is for dichotomous

Your result will appear in the output window
– The significance of a correlation coefficient is not a determination of the strength of the relationship. Significance means, as always, that the observed value most likely did not occur by chance
