ANOVA

Is used to test for difference in means of a dependent variable broken down by the levels of and independent variable i.e. when you have a categorical independent variable (with two or more categories) and a normally  dependent variable

To run one-way ANOVA

  1. Click on the analyze menu- compare means- click on the One-Way ANOVA
  • The one way ANOVA dialogue box opens
  1. Select a variable from the left side and move it to the Dependent list box
  2. Select another variable from the left side and move it to the Factor box
  3. Click on the option
  • The One-Way ANOVA: Options dialogue box opens
  1. Select the Descriptive, Homogeneity of variance test and Mean plot check boxes
  2. Click the continue button
  3. Click OK button
