ANOVA
Is used to test for difference in means of a dependent variable broken down by the levels of and independent variable i.e. when you have a categorical independent variable (with two or more categories) and a normally dependent variable
To run one-way ANOVA
- Click on the analyze menu- compare means- click on the One-Way ANOVA
- The one way ANOVA dialogue box opens
- Select a variable from the left side and move it to the Dependent list box
- Select another variable from the left side and move it to the Factor box
- Click on the option
- The One-Way ANOVA: Options dialogue box opens
- Select the Descriptive, Homogeneity of variance test and Mean plot check boxes
- Click the continue button
- Click OK button
- The output window opens.
